The managing director of Delta Air Lines Inc.’s cargo unit is leaving the company and will be replaced by a former United Airlines official, the nation’s No. 3 carrier said Wednesday.
Ben Darnell is leaving Atlanta-based Delta after working there for 22 years.
In a statement, Delta said that day-to-day oversight of Delta Cargo will be assumed by Neel Shah, who will join the company as vice president of cargo, effective Jan. 14.
Shah, 38, will report to Delta President Ed Bastian, who also serves as the company’s chief financial officer.
Shah most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for United Airlines Cargo. United Airlines Cargo is a unit of UAL Corp.’s United Airlines, which is based in Chicago.
The news at Delta follows the departures of two Delta executives in recent weeks: Vice president of communications Jeff Battcher and vice president of operations Joe Kolshak. Kolshak was replaced by Stephen Gorman, a former chief executive of Greyhound Lines Inc. A replacement for Battcher has not been publicly named. indah cargo cek ongkir
